Pure Water for Healthy, Thriving Villages
Contaminated drinking water containing excess fluoride, iron, and harmful biological bacteria causes chronic gastroenteritis, skin infections, and stunted growth among children in rural Uttar Pradesh. ITLC Foundation's Clean Water & Community Sanitation Campaign tackles this crisis through decentralized, sustainable solutions.
Practical Ground Interventions
- Deep Borewell Hand Pump Rehabilitation: Repairing neglected community hand pumps, replacing broken cylinders, and extending riser pipes to tap cleaner aquifers.
- Community Water Filtration Units: Installing multi-stage bio-sand and low-maintenance RO purification plants near village schools and Anganwadi centers.
- WASH Hygiene & Sanitation Training: Educating families on safe water storage, regular hand washing, and sanitary household practices to eliminate waterborne epidemics.
- Jal Mitra Youth Committees: Training local village youth and women to conduct periodic water quality tests and handle preventative mechanical maintenance.
